Lilypie First Birthday tickers

it's a parade!

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Watter's Creek had a holiday parade last Saturday to bring Santa to the
big tree lighting!!
It was so cute! They had horses and vintage cars all decked out for the holidays! Kids were everywhere waving and saying happy holidays! It was so fun to see everyone get in the holiday spirit! From my store I could see everything and it was a fun night to see!
This Friday for black friday they are having little elves pass out coupons and information
about Watter's Creek! I am so excited to see a little elf I will be sure
to snap a picture!! Also, at Watter's Creek they are having
Santa stationed in the leasing office of the apartments that surround
the center and taking pictures with Santa is FREE!! You get to
do it all on your own! I am taking Parker up there
to take pictures with Santa one weekend! I know he will just love it!

Also, this week I bought me a little early christmas present!! New under armour tights for running!! They are black and white ...some people think they look like zebra print but I just think they are so fun I can't wait to wear them this chilly running season!! Plus the black and white will go with every running top I own!! ( I ran in them this morning and I did a 8 min mile for 6 miles!! wahoo! I think they make me faster already!! ;) plus i had a luke's giftcard!!

I might give this a try...

Date day in November!

Sunday, November 6, 2011
Ross and I both had off Saturday November 5 and it was great!
I had been working a ton since one of my girls at work was on
vacation for a week so once she got back I decided a weekend off was in order!
We decided to go to a winery in Grapevine, Texas!
It is a small winery where they
grow grapes and make the wine right there.
It is one of the only ones in north Texas
that grows the grapes and makes the wine all in one stop!
We went on a tour of The Delaney Winery and a tasting!
We did a tasting of 6 wines.. 3 white and 3 red.
Here we are in the tasting room which is
also known as the barrel room where they do wedding
receptions or big events.

We did a tour of the vineyard to learn about Delaney Winery and it
was very interesting!
Here it the bottling area at the Grapevine location.
The main bottling factory is in La mesa near Lubbock Texas.
The labels are all vintage france which is what Mr. Delaney
enjoys and will continue to stick with for the future.
These are the steel barrels were they ferment the wine.
Here is one of the old barrels that they used to use to hold the wines.
They do notuse them any more since the wine in the middle
of the barrel would
not touchthe oak and would not have the flavor as other
parts of the wine in such a large barrel.

Here we are in the vineyard area. It was very nice and open.
Mr. Delaney does not want to fence
the area in so it's open for the community to see and become involved in.
When it was built it was built near a 2 lane dirt road not the massive
highway that is there now! The vineyard does grow grapes
for one of the Delaney wines which is the Sweet Texas Red.
We bought a bottle to enjoy at home!
It was a fun day adventure and we enjoyed doing
something a little different!

fun in Oct

October is here and in full swing! I can't believe how fast fall is flying by! It's probably my most favorite time of the year...or maybe summer I do
love laying out by the pool!!
A few weekends ago we had a girls night out with Nora, Lorin, Mom, and I at
Cheese Cake Factory! It was so much fun! We laughed and talked about
all sorts of things! It's fun having ladies nights out and enjoying quality time!!
On Sunday Mom and I went to see the play West Side Story at fair park
it was a blast! We got lost going there which is always fun!
Then after the play we stopped by Sprinkles in Dallas for a cupcake!!
I just love cupcakes!
The weekends have been crazy with work and running
with the Luke's crew early in the morning but I am enjoying
it and keeping my running up to par!
We are loving Oct and enjoying the weather too!!

Crafts galore!

Friday, October 14, 2011

Last week Alina and I had a craft day! We had a blast!! We met up at Hobby Lobby to get all of our supplies for the day and the headed to Alina's place to start working!! We had yummy snacks from Market Street and quickly got to work! Alina worked on letters for Conner's room with scrap book paper and I worked on a cute banner for her shower in November!

Alina hard at work! ;) She had to cut the letters
just so in order to get the paper to cover them properly!
She had such great patience!! She will be a calm momma!
Here are my letters for the banner that will go with the theme of the shower
which is navy and orange!
There will be orange ribbons in between each letter!!

Mom and I went to Canton Trade days a few weekends ago and made it into a girls weekend!
We had a blast! We woke up early on Sunday and shopped all day!!
We found cute fall things
to decorate with in our homes! We also enjoyed a yummy funnel cake!!
I really enjoy doing fun girl stuff with my mom since she is here in beautiful Texas!!

My friend Brittany got engaged a few weekends ago and she is
beaming with joy!!
This was the night she got engaged! Her fiance to be got everyone
together at apub to celebrate
the engagement and share in the happy moment for the both of them!!
Congrats Britt and Joey!

What a saturday!!

Sunday, September 18, 2011
Saturday started out with a run at white rock lake for a luke's benchmark race! It was the tour de fleurs a 10k (6 miles) and a 20k (12 miles)! Mom and I are both in the program as coaches so we headed out to the race together bright and early! She did the 10k with a friend and I decided to run the 20k in the humid and muggy heat! It was fun to see running buddies all geared up for
the run and eagerly anticipating the start! The race was humid and hilly!
Not my best race but I learned a few things about hills that I will start to include
in my training process going forward! Way to go Luke's runners!

Also, on Saturday was Lorin's baby shower!! We were all so excited and it was a fun and lovely shower put on by her highschool friends! We really can't
wait to meet Knox and it
was fun to celebrate with Lorin and see all the cute stuff he will be
wearing in the next few months! Here are some fun details of the shower!
The diaper cake and tower of cupcakes!
Lorin's baby room is going to be green and blues so they matched perfectly!!
The cupcakes were amazing!!
The guest sign in book was the Dr.Suess book Fox in Socks because there is a man named Mr. Knox in the book! We all signed it with messages for Knox to enjoy! It was a really cute idea!
Also, for Lorin we wrote funny and sweet messages on diapers for
her to use in the first few months he arrives and has
crazy hours of changing diapers and such!

Lorin with G-Lynn and Nonnie!! They are really excited
for Lorin and baby Knox!

All of the excited family members at the shower!
We can't wait to meet baby Knox and we
are all so happy for Lorin and Logan!!

A party for me? why not!

Tuesday, September 13, 2011
This weekend we had a party for me! wahoo! It was so much fun! Surrounded by family and friends all excited about my new adventure in life! My mom wanted to throw a party and entertain around her pool so I was the focus sine I recently got a new job! I am not
one to turn down a party in my honor!
We had burgers, hot dogs, yummy dips and
of course cupcakes and cake balls!
My mom really knows how to feed a crowd!
Here are some fun pics from the night! I was so happy to see everyone
and love getting to hang out with family and friends!
Ron and Nora enjoy the great outdoors!
My Luke's girls! Laurel, Monica, and Mary! Sweet friends!
Lorin and Logan came!!
It was great to see them both and we are all
so excited to meet Baby Knox!

Ross and I enjoying the sunset and watching the moon come up by the pool!

My proud parents and biggest supporters!
Thanks for the fun party! We had a blast!
Can't wait until the next one!

Sept. already!

Tuesday, September 6, 2011
Wow! It's Sept. already and the weather is changing! I love fall weather...decorating for fall and all of the amazing starbucks
drinks that come out in the fall!!
There have been a few changes in the LaPrade household! Recently I was offered a new job at Apricot Lane as the store manager and gladly accepted! It truly came out of no where but the district manager who contacted me I had previously worked with her at Dillards and we both know how we lead, direct, and take on daily tasks! I am really excited and want to make the best out of the new job and have great sales too!! You can find more info about Apricot Lane here! I am at the location at Watter's Creek so it's really cute and close by!
This weekend Ross and I had the entire weekend off together! It was amazing! On Saturday I ran with the Luke's marathon training group and we ran about 14 miles with hill repeats!! It was at least nice weather that morning and I wasn't completely drenched! ha! After the long run Ross decided we should go Rock Climbing so we headed out to Richardson to Exposure for a few hours of rock climbing! That night we had a date night at Buca di Beppo and really enjoyed
just the two of hanging out!
Sunday we tried out a couples bible study together and had a good time!
We are trying to get a class where we can meet new people and also
have accountability as we fellowship with other Christians!
Of course Sunday afternoons are time spent at Creel Cove
(aka my parents pool!) We hope you guys had a great weekend!
I will try to post more often! I have been addicted to Pinterest!! ;)

Check these out!
I found them on Pinterest and I fell in love...(now addicted!)

They also have ideas for fashion, art, home decor and so much more!

I love my hairstylist!!

Tuesday, July 12, 2011
Ok so clearly this is a blog post about my hair! :) I have been wanting to cut it super short for about a month now and today I took the plunge!! Yesterday, while at work this really cute lady came in with a short haircut that I immediately fell in love with! I told the sweet lady I loved her hair cut and asked her kindly if I could take a picture of her hair to show my stylist! She agreed and was flattered that I liked her hair style so much! I took a few pics and
on my lunch break made an appointment with my
hairstylist for the next day!
(clearly the above picture is my before of my hair!)
This is the back of my hair and it had really grown out
since the last time I got it cut was in April!! oh my!!

I showed my stylist the pictures that I took and she loved it and said oh yes that will look cute on you! I was really excited!! While she cut it and as
she finished a few
of her friends came by and told her that was a fun style for my
hair and what a good job! (realy thrilled!)

So here is the AFTER:

Yea!! I love it! It's the shortest it's ever been and strangely enough shorter than Ross' hair right now! ( I am working on getting him to go get it cut!)
I am so excited about
the fun earrings and headbands I can wear the rest of the
summer and into the fall!!

Top Golf

On Saturday night we met up with some friends at Top Golf in Allen! Ross and I have not played golf before and to the best of our knowledge haven't played miniature golf on a date! Top Golf is really popular so we had a 2 hour wait which wasn't so bad as we had fun hanging out with our friends and watching sports on tvs all over!

Ross trying his hand at Top Golf! He actually did pretty good that night! We were not high scorers but we did place 1st and 2nd in our group! We were pretty proud of ourselves since we were the only two who had not played there before!! (beginners luck completely!)

Ann and Zack who I met through the Luke's running group are really fun and laid back to hang out with! They just recently moved to McKinney and we are excited to hang out with them since they are in our neck of the woods now! They also just got a yellow lab who looks adorable!
Ross and I enjoying the night! We had a blast and can't wait till the next time!
