Friday on Kelly's Korner she had a section on fashion tips...so working in fashion I decided to make

Fashion Tips:
1) Coach Handbags!! I just love Coach! They are functional, colorful, and timeless pieces in every girls closet! I recently got the Alex bag for Christmas and absolutely love it! It is all black on the outside with pale blue on the inside so that I am able to find my wallet, keys, and lipstick!

2) Red heels: I wear a lot of black to work and so the red heels give any outfit a great pop of color! I love wearing my red heels with a black wrap dress or my White House Black Market leopard print dress from when Ross and I got engaged! Red heels go great with anything black!

3) Pearls: I am really into pearls right now! I have two pair of pearl earrings that look great with black or my plum sweaters that are sprinkled throughout my closet! Also pearl necklaces like this one look great against black! I wore pearls on my wedding day and truly felt connected to my family members who had also wore them in the past on their wedding day! Pearls will never go out of style or season! They can make any look go from preppy to sophisticated in an instant!

New for 2010!

Here are a few things that are new in 2010!

First I would like to announce that I have a new job with JCPenney! I am very excited about the new opportunity in life and the career path for the LaPrades! I start Feb 8 and the new adventure begins! I just want to say to all of our family and friends thank you for supporting and encouraging us through everything! I am so blessed to have an amazing group of family and friends close by!! Love you all!! Now I get to find a whole new wardrobe for my new job!!

Secondly, I went to Ann Taylor Loft as soon as I knew is was official that I had a new job and bought a few wardrobe updates!! Of course the top below was one of them!! Everyone knows

my obsession with polka dots!! Plus this shirt is so soft it will look just adorable under jackets or cardigans!!

Third, on my day off (today) Thursday I made this amazing dish!! I was a hershey recipe from one of the cookbooks that Nora got both Lorin and I!! It's called Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie Bars! Ross will be so excited when he wakes up to this surprise in the morning!! :) They are so moist and delicious... I will have to hit the gym double time Friday!

Last but not least our precious pup Parker! He got a new toy which we named Lilly! It is a webkinz stuffed dog that looks just like Parker! He was loving on it during his mid-day nap after the vet visit today! We also have fun stuffed toys for Lucy and Toby too!! Parker can't wait to see all of his doggy family soon!!

weekend in short

This weekend Ross and I both had the weekend off together so we had a blast spending quality time together! Friday night we hung out with Jon and Melissa Glidden and of course Ellie! Who I must say has the most adorable smile! Jon and Ross have been friends even before I came along and his wife Melissa is really sweet and genuine! We played Rockband 2 and enjoyed good company! Saturday we slept in and made plans to head out to Mesquite to Cracker Barrel! We were both craving their amazing pancakes but once we got there we were sold on the mashed potatoes and fried okra!! Later that evening we had Logan and Lorin over for food and fun! Lorin made an amazing chocolate bundt cake complete with chocolate icing and I made turkey macaroni in the crockpot! We played scene it on xbox where Logan really beat us all and then of course tried our hand at Rockband with Lorin and Logan! Lorin was a really fun singer that kept us entertained throughout the evening! Then on Sunday we had a lovely family lunch with Ross' parents and mine at Olive Garden! We felt very special having both families at lunch!
It was a full weekend but we had a blast!

Parker in Dec.!

Today Parker went to the vet for a check up and shot.
He weighed in at 8.4 pounds! He is 4 months and 11 days old and growing so fast! When we first got him in October he weighed 3.5 pounds! He is full of personality these days....running around the apt. chasing monkey, puppy or tennis balls, hiding the toys underneath the couch, sneaking off with socks and slippers, curious about Rock Band accessories, and always sleeping in our laps in the middle of the afternoon!

Creel-Hogan Christmas!

On Sunday we celebrated Christmas with my side of the family! My Grandparents came into town from Louisiana and we had a great time! Parker was spoiled rotten the entire day! We read the Christmas story, watched football, enjoyed magic cookie bar, and
enjoyed family time together!

Christmas Dinner! Ross really liked the broccoli casserole and that is now my new challenge to make it for him at the next special occassion!

The LaPrade Family Christmas!

Here are many of the pictures from the fun filled day with the LaPrade family! We had everyone there: Nora, Ron, Lorin, Logan, Lucy, Jean (Ross' Memaw), Bill (Ross' Grandpa), and of course Ross and I with Parker! The pictures may be a little out of order but it was a lovely Christmas day! We had great food and good laughs!!

Lucy got to open presents!! Lorin got Toby and Parker monkeys and bones that are good for their teeth! Parker loves his monkey and enjoys playing tug of war with it!
