Lilypie First Birthday tickers

Obsessions of a Runner!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Recently I have become addicted to a few things....

The first being a Timex Ironman watch. I don't have this one but I have another version like this one that I have started wearing again! I have started to increase my mileage and have tracked my running miles a few times with the watch to see how my pace is on mile 2,3, and so on... I really enjoy wearing it now in this lovely spring weather because it doesn't stick to my wrist where it can be uncomfortable and it's easy to read as I am running down the street! The other day though I accidentally made the screen go blank and couldn't figure out how to get the lap timer back...yes, that was me running down the street yelling and pressing buttons on my watch! ha!

I do not have these yet but you can guess that they are pretty high up on my Birthday list!!
These are by ryders and they are called Flange! They come in pink which I love! I have researched them and check them out on amazon to see if they have good deals or other runners blogs to read how they have enjoyed wearing them on long runs! I can't wait to look super hot in pink Flange sunglasses this summer!
of course, Jelly Beans! These are just so yummy I couldn't help but post them! Try some and you will love them too! (we may have other jelly beans around our house since it's close to easter such as sweetart jelly beans that are yummy too!)
More pics to come later of our wonderful weekend off and my wicked awesome new running outfit! ;) that's all I have for now...Girls Night!! yea!!!

Spring!

Wednesday, March 24, 2010
Here are a few fun things that are happening this spring so far.....
Ok, so Melissa has a ton of crafty ideas that are just adorable so one night
last week we created a fabric tray with of course a monogram!! I really liked the way mine turned out and hope to use it at my desk one day to hold candy and beverages! I found this tray
at Marshalls for $4 and I thought it was really funny
with the roosters sitting on the fence!
The before picture:

After:
Here is both Melissa's plate and my tray! Her plate turned out super cute! She even cut all of the fabric in perfect, straight lines to lay on the plate...me on the other hand I just cut the strips as I saw fit in order to fit on the plate...a little bit more of an edgy yet crafty appeal I do believe!

These cookies are amazing! I made these Double Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip cookies last week on my day off for Ross and I. He loves peanut butter and the mix of chocolate chips was a true hit at the LaPrade House!

Recently on one of our days off together Ross had mentioned that he wanted something different that the regular sandwich than I fix for his lunch once he gets off so I came across this recipe.
A Chicken Crostada: It turned out amazing! It was full of flavor and spices which we both love! He mentioned that I could for sure put that on the list of recipes to make again! Oh please excuse my image in this photo...day off means no make up and messy hair sometimes! Well, at least I am wearing my apron that my memaw got me Christmas!! It reads "Domestic Diva"!

A Romper?

Monday, March 15, 2010
Ok so recently I have seen a lot of really cute rompers in magazines and online...I found one in blue that I just love and it has a ruffle so what's not to love about that?! My question is though....Can I pull off a romper? I am all of 5'4'' without heels and I would for sure be wearing heels with a romper but I want it to look cute and show off my legs that I work so hard to maintain at the gym running every day of my life for! Here are a few pics. Any tips of advice would be very much appreciated!! ;)

Parker:Our spoiled pup!

Parker's Lifestyle

Most of the time he is asleep on the couch hanging out with us on our days off. It's so cute because he will snuggle with us laying underneath the pillows and push his face into the corners of the couch and pass out. His hard day consists of eating, playing, lots of sleeping, and loving on Ross and I as soon as we walk in the door!

We bought Parker his very first costume!!
I was trying to order it for Ross' Birthday so Parker would be in on the
fun with the batman theme of the party but the costume
came in the mail a little late.
I tried the costume on him as soon as it came in and he just sat there
looking at me as if he was saying "please mom take it off!"
He's our little Batman running around!!

Last week when it was gorgeous weather outside we
took Parker on an adventure!
Ross got off work and we took Parker by the Church to visit Nora
and all of her lovely church friends! He just loved the attention! Then we went to downtown McKinney for lunch at Spoons!
We ate outside so we could enjoy the nice weather and Parker was pleased to meet all of the new people in downtown McKinney!

Just a fun snapshot of Ross and I from this weekend! We both had off on Sunday and we went to Breadwinners in Plano for a friend Reem's Birthday Party! Ross loved all of the breakfast food and I enjoyed sitting outside on a rainy day right next to a warm fireplace!

Ross' 26th Birthday!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010
On Monday March 1, 2010 was Ross' 26th Birthday!! We celebrated the entire weekend with family and friends and here are a few pics of all the fun events!!
Happy Birthday to the love of my life!!
We kicked off the weekend with dinner at Chuy's with Ron,Nora, Logan and Lorin! We had so much fun hanging out and enjoying great mexican food!! I had Batman movie questions prepared for the group to quiz them during dinner and everyone did an awesome job at the Batman trivia! Ross' party theme was all Batman!

Ron and Nora! Logan and Lorin (soon to be Lowry's!)
Logan is so in love...can't you tell by his eyes!!

Here is a preview of the decor around our place for the party!!
We had Batman cake, balloons, streamers, and decor all over the place!
Ross was really excited and couldn't wait to have a piece of the cake!
We had a friend of ours Jessica Hendrickson make it!
She did an awesome job and
went above and beyond on the Batman theme!!
Thank you so much Jessica!
(she also has a blog The Cake Snob!)
A close up of the cake! I couldn't get over the lettering
and all the details!! She even put the skyline on the back with Batman
looking over the city...assuming it was Gotham City!!

Make a wish!!The LaPrade Family!

We decided to play Rock Band with the family and it was hilarious!!
Lorin and I sang while Logan played guitar, Nora tried the drums out and in the end Ron wanted to sing his heart out to every Beatles song known to man....to bad Rock Band doesn't have Beatles songs! It was a fun game night ending with a competitive game of Scene It!
On Saturday night we had Jon and Melissa over for food and games!
We always have such a good time with them and enjoy joking around!
We played Rock Band again.....I think in our heads we
think we are pretty good musicians!! haha!!

They love each other!
Jon and Melissa excited about our next song!

Thanks to everyone who made Ross' Birthday extra special!
We are so blessed to have sweet and loving family and friends
who care about us so much!
We enjoyed spending time with everyone and can't wait
till the next big party!! ;)
