4th of July!!

Wednesday, July 6, 2011
What a weekend! Ross and I both had a few days off and we really enjoyed the 4th of July weekend together! On Saturday night we went to Commerce,TX were we met up with some of Ross' friends to shoot off fireworks in the country! It was a nice hot night in Texas and we enjoyed sitting outside watching all the fireworks until midnight!!

On Sunday we went to church and had lunch with Ross' f
amily which was very nice.
After church we hit the pool to cool off from the Texas heat!! Ross got us
slurpees and animal crackers to snack on by the pool! A great treat during the summer!!

On Monday morning we woke up early and went to downtown Mckinney to see the 4th of July parade! It was full of firetrucks, vintage cars, boy scouts, and lots of motorcycles! We had a fun time getting into the festive spirit of the 4th!! I liked the vintage cars the best!

We met up with Meg and Jack at the parade and took some pics in the heat!
Meg's family had an office near the square so we cooled off for a bit and enjoyed water while we talked about our 4th plans with family and friends!
On Monday evening I planned a congrats party for Ross for his new job
and it had a 4th of July theme which I had a blast decorating and making
desserts for everyone!! The American Flag cake that Mom and I created!! so yummy! The tie-dye cupcakes with fun red frosting!
When you bite into them they were red, white, and blue full of flavor!
The chocolate covered strawberries with sprinkles!!
My personal favorite and they were a big hit with the entire family!
Ross and I ready to celebrate!!
Ross and his friend Jon Finch
Ross and his Mom
Ross and the Dads!

After dinner we sat outside by the pool and enjoyed
fireworks late into the night!
It was a nice night out as the breeze began to blow and cool us off from
the wild heat all day!!
We had a great time with family and friends over the 4th and
can't wait till next year!!
